Martin Handcraft Imperial Alto Sax
This is one of the rarest models made by Martin.
It was made for a relatively short period.
It is the prototype 'modern' American-made sax.
This was their professional model. It was made in the 1930's.
This horn evolved over its production run.
A very well built horn that plays like a vintage Martin should.
Don’t confuse this with the Imperial Martin made in the 1960’s…that was a student horn or intermediate at best.
This is the Handcraft Imperial which is the professional model that Martin made for short period.

LACQUER –
This has great-looking original vintage lacquer, a wonderful dark honey color. Of course, it has lost some of it over the years.
This is a horn with Personality!
I used my tuner to check the intonation of this sax and it plays in tune quite well.
LOVELY KEY ACTION - very smooth
One Spring at the bottom needs to be adjusted/ changed!

CASE –
The case, with red inlay is original and looks very cool. It locks safely.
PADS-
The Pads are not new but they are still doing their Job. I am able to play the full range of the Instrument.
The Instrument would even play better if some Pads would be changed.
