    The AB Systems Precedence Series Model 912 mixer/preamplifier is a professional grade preamp with outstanding components. The Model 912 preamplifier/mixer is a super rare slimline version of the 911 with unique automatic input source selection and with tape dubbbing and mic mixing capabilities through the program or tape out.  A great opportunity to obtain professional grade audio gear that still has parts and service available at an incredible price.  This is AB Systems, Inc. gear, not AB International.  HUGE difference!
    The Story of AB Systems is even more uncommon than locating their original American made gear. AB Systems was created in 1976 by Altec executive Robert Bird with the goal of designing and manufacturing professional grade sound reinforcement amps and recording equipment in the United States. They produced an excellent product in California priced at the high end of the spectrum. Eventually AB Systems followed the herd and closed the US manufacturing facility in the early 1990's, shipped the operation overseas, and renamed the company AB International. As expected, quality control eroded, the company couldn't justify the price point they established in the marketplace, and sales suffered. When Mr. Bird passed away in 1999 the company ceased production.
