Compared with the electromagnetic pointer type VU meter, the device is simple and economical. It not only displays the output power of the power amplifier at any time, but also the problems caused by the power amplifier circuit, the power supply and the load can be displayed from the electric eye. If the electric eye fluctuates greatly and the horn sound is small, the load is too light and the impedance does not match. The electric eye has a display and the speaker is silent, indicating that the load is open, the electric eye has light but does not follow the signal fluctuation, which means that the power amplifier or the input signal has a problem; if the electric eye is wide open but does not fluctuate, it reflects that the power amplifier has self-excitation, such as the electric eye without light to prove the power system. The power consumption of the tuning indicator tube 6E2 is only about 2W, which does not burden the power amplifier. If the enthusiast is interested in this, the "VU meter" can be used for the power amplifier.
